Located in the municipality of Colunga, this renowned fishing village is considered one of the most beautiful in Spain. This is due, in part, to its spectacular location at the top of a cliff over the Cantabrian Sea as if it were a hanging village.

The steep alleys of this municipality link the picturesque fishing port with the old town. The effort is worth it since, generous in beauty, Lastres rewards its visitors with amazing views and an atmosphere of tranquility typical of the seafaring atmosphere that is breathed there.

Linked to fishing activity since its origin, its inhabitants have demonstrated an admirable capacity for adaptation over the centuries clinging to their peculiar location. Whaling, facilitated by the excellent visibility of the town on the sea, caused a period of prosperity between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries reflected in the rich architectural heritage of that time. The Palacio de los Robledo, the Clock Tower, the Church of Santa María de Sábada or the Chapel of San Roque are testimonies of this flourishing period.

From the viewpoint of San Roque, next to the aforementioned chapel of the same name, the views over Lastres are unbeatable. From this point, too, there is a quiet coastal path of 3km to the Lighthouse of Lights place that offers us, again, spectacular photographs of the coast.

Road access to Lastres is by the AS-257 from Colunga or from the A-8 motorway.  Following this same route you can access the JURASSIC MUSEUM, another fascinating destination for the whole family that hosts one of the most complete and didactic samples in the world about dinosaurs and their footprint in the territory.
