It is 228 million years since dinosaurs made their appearance on our planet and 66 million years after their mysterious extinction. But on the Asturian coast time has not managed to erase the traces of its existence. And those footprints are what today allow us to rebuild their world.

In a privileged place on the coast of the Principality stands the Jurassic Museum of Asturias (MUJA), a unique building that, in the form of a large dinosaur footprint, houses one of the most complete and didactic samples in the world about these fascinating animals. A wooden structure from Scandinavian forests forms a network of arches that simulate the ribs of dinosaurs and conveys the almost magical sensation of a journey through time, in which each finger of the large tridactyl footprint corresponds to each of the three periods of the Mesozoic Era. With time as a common thread, the MUJA shows life on Earth from its beginnings to the appearance of the human being and offers extensive information on the different aspects of dinosaur life.

The surroundings of the building multiply the possibilities of enjoyment. Privileged views over the Asturian coast, children's play area, gardens that allow walks between reproductions of dinosaurs, replicas of the most representative sites of the Jurassic Coast of Asturias (accessible and with interpretation tables in Braille), and the MUJA Café, make the visit to the Museum a unique experience.
