The Valle de Samuño Mining Ecomuseum opened its doors to the public on June 15, 2013 after the execution of a project that had been demanded for years by popular initiative. This museum is located near the town of Ciaño (Langreo). Among its fundamental objectives is the conservation and rehabilitation of a very relevant heritage legacy and also the economic revitalization of the area, a territory especially affected by the closure of mining operations given its great importance as an economic sustenance of the valley.


The visit begins with a train trip through the Samuño Valley, accompanied by a guide a kilometre inside a mine of the late nineteenth century, there will be a guided tour of the mining complex of Pozo San Luis and we will get to know an authentic mining town.
